The Ten Commandments...?

The Ten Commandments -  Where are they . . . What are they? Any good Christian would tell you what they have been taught in church - " the Ten Commandments" are found in Exodus Chapter 20, and perhaps they might even know that they are repeated again in Deuteronomy Chapter 5.  That is what any good Christian will tell you in answer, as to where " the Ten Commandments" are to be found in the bible.  Just ask this good Christian:  As to what " the Ten Commandments" say, in all actuality, most Christians might be able to, at best, quote a few of the "ten".  Heck, they even have fun kids versions of " the Ten": Here is a problem with teaching tradition in church: Ex. 20 does not contain " the Ten Commandments".  It does contain ten commandments that Christians have traditionally claimed are " the Ten Commandments", but they are NOT " the Ten Commandments".  Exodus 20 does not indicate that the commandmen

Real God - vs - made-up gods

  Can we all agree that most of the gods, past and present, were made-up? Most  gods were inventions of humans, based on ancient (and more modern) myths - can we all (even Christians) agree on that?   Even if you believe in a god, believe that your god is real, you very likely believe that all of the other gods that have been believed in over thousands of years, were made-up by people. Can we at least agree on that? We know that people in ancient civilizations made up gods.  Romans, Greeks, Egyptians, (Hebrews?), Inca's, Mayans, Native Americans, etc, all worshiped gods that were based on ancient mythical beings, creatures, celestial objects, and earthly objects, folklore, traditions, which means all these "other" gods were the product of their imaginations or the imaginations of their ancestors.
