In Defense of Water Baptism by Immersion . . . ?

Hallelujah, Hallelujah ! The drought has been broken.   After more than two years and 170 page visits, my blog post titled  Water Baptism has a serious problem  - concerning the practice of this deadly sacrament - has finally gotten a comment, and that comment is from a Christian . . . ~ Hallelujah ~ Now, I have to be completely honest - this comment was not the result of some random Christian who just stumbled upon my blog post.  This comment was solicited - well - sort of.  I didn't ask specifically for her to leave a comment.  I would rather she responded to me via email.  My email (below) should explain - and note - she did say that she enjoys " debating atheists ". ~ ~ ~ Greetings Diana, Bob here, former bible believer for 25 years of my life (age 17 to my early 40's), now an atheist for the past 20+ years.  I have no education beyond high school and am the author of no books.   I plan on perusing your blog and reading what I find interesting.    From your abo

Mike Winger Bible Thinker

Late last year I sent an email to Mike Winger at his Bible Thinker website: Nov 2, 2022 Subject:  Topic Suggestion First Name:  Bob Email:   r.u.reasonable@gmail.com Message:   I did a blog post on the dangers of water baptism: https://somequestionsforgod. blogspot.com/2021/03/water- baptism-dear-god-ok-water- baptism.html I would really like to learn Mr. Winger's thoughts on why the God of the bible would institute a practice that has proven to be fatal to so many new converts to Christianity over the thousands of years. Did he not know that they were dangerous? Did he know that many of those who would obey would die as a resul

. . . or the Charismatics or Full Gospels, or what ever they want to be called.  Suffice it to say, these churches believe: 1 - Speaking in "tongues" is something that Christians (still) do today, or perhaps should do today. 2 - God, in Jesus time and today, still miraculously heals people of their physical / mental ailments, usually after the afflicted (or someone else) has prayed for this healing. In one of my previous posts I mentioned my dear friend Mary (and her husband Rob ) who have been associated with just such churches for most of their adult life.  Mary, after I explained to her my reasons for no longer believing in God, suggested to me - " If you want to get wet, you have to hang out under the spout where the water comes out.  Go where there is a REAL move of God ." In other words, she attends a church ( Pentecostal / Charismatic / Full Gospel ) where " there is a REAL move of God ", and if I want the same, I should attend a Full Gospel ch
