Luke 7:11-17 Soon afterward he went to a town called Nain, and his disciples and a large crowd went with him. As he approached the gate of the town, a man who had died was being carried out. He was his mother’s only son, and she was a widow, and with her was a large crowd from the town. When the Lord saw her, he was moved with compassion for her and said to her, “Do not cry.” Then he came forward and touched the bier, and the bearers stopped. And he said, “Young man, I say to you, rise!” The dead man sat up and began to speak, and Jesus gave him to his mother. Fear seized all of them, and they glorified God, saying, “A great prophet has risen among us!” and “God has visited his people!” This word about him spread throughout the whole of Judea and all the surrounding region.
And yet, even though this bible story is claimed, in the bible, to have been spread through the entire region we have absolutely zero contemporary documentation, any documentation at all, besides what is written in Luke some five decade's after this miracle was performed by Jesus - in spite of this miracle being witnessed by several "large crowds" and then being told to everyone in and around Judea. No one (seemingly) thought of putting pen to papyrus for 50 years? No one in "authority", after hearing of this event, surely would have thought of going to meet this man and ask a few questions. How about even going and questioning some of the witnesses, as there were several "large crowds" who did witness this miraculous event?

Matthew 27:50-53 Then Jesus cried again with a loud voice and breathed his last. At that moment the curtain of the temple was torn in two, from top to bottom. The earth shook, and the rocks were split. The tombs also were opened, and many bodies of the saints who had fallen asleep were raised. After his resurrection they came out of the tombs and entered the holy city and appeared to many.
Again, if all this occurred - earthquake, rocks splitting, tombs opening, and the dead coming out and walking around in the city and being seen by many people, why didn't anyone write about this other than Matthew, some 5 decades later?
Can any thinking Christian offer any GOOD REASON why I should be compelled to accept (believe) that these stories are true?
YES ? then please share with me this GOOD REASON.
NO ? then why should I believe ANY CLAIM that is found in the bible?
Christian - this is not difficult. We all know that dead people do not come back to life. We all know this. It doesn't matter that your parents believed this, your grandparents believed this, and your great grandparents believed this - that has no bearing on the truth or falsity of these and many other biblical claims. If you cannot think of any GOOD REASON for why I should believe this, or why you should CONTINUE to believe this, then it is way past time for you to seriously evaluate why you continue to believe what you believe.
It is wrong always, everywhere, and for anyone, to believe anything upon insufficient evidence.
~William K Clifford
Man is a credulous animal and must believe something. In the absence of good grounds for belief, he will be satisfied with bad ones.
