Mike Winger Bible Thinker

Late last year I sent an email to Mike Winger at his Bible Thinker website:

Nov 2, 2022
Subject: Topic Suggestion
First Name: Bob

Message: I did a blog post on the dangers of water baptism:

I would really like to learn Mr. Winger's thoughts on why the God of the bible would institute a practice that has proven to be fatal to so many new converts to Christianity over the thousands of years. I suspect that Mr. Winger has never even contemplated this.

Similarly, the same basic problem exists with the biblically commanded practice of male circumcision, of which I did another blog post: https://somequestionsforgod.blogspot.com/2021/06/circumcision.html

Why would the God of the old testament and of the new, command these often fatal practices? Did he not know that they were dangerous? Did he know that many of those who would obey would die as a result of that obedience?

Thank you.

bob

I received a prompt and cordial response from Mr. Wingers personal assistant, Sarah Zimmermann, which honestly surprised me - based on past experience with sending links to my blog posts to the occasional Christian, I did not expect to ever get a response.

Hi Bob,

Thank you so much for reaching out to us, and for sharing your two blog links! I hope Pastor Mike will be able to offer a teaching in response to your questions in the future. We appreciate your perspective and your suggestions!

In Christ,

I have no idea if Sarah read the two links to my blog posts in the email that I sent - one on the dangers of water baptism and the other on the dangers of male circumcision.  I am confident that they likely receive hundreds of inquiries from Christians and non Christians every day.  It would be perfectly reasonable if she just couldn't take the time.  Perhaps one day I'll get a response from Mike, but as of now it has been more than 8 months since I received the response from Sarah.
I suspect that no response, video or otherwise, is forthcoming - because -  I have no idea if she forwarded my email to Mike, or if she did forward it, if Mike took the time to read the linked blog posts?

?  "Bible Thinker"  ?

If the Bible Thinker Team has read my two blog posts, and if the reaction of all the other Christians who have read these two posts are any indicator as to how the Bible Thinker Team will react - I will never get a response.

As of today, my post on the deadly hazards of the bible sacrament of water baptism has 170 views - not a single response from a single Christian.

As of today, my post on the deadly hazards of male circumcision has 12 views . . .
( . . . what the . . . )
 . . . not a single response from a single Christian.

And note - I have recently updated the post on drownings during water baptisms - Christians are still drowning during the process. One particular instance from late in 2022 - 15 people drowned. That's right - 15 people, observers, sitting along the river bank were swept away to their deaths by the suddenly raging river as their God seemingly sat back and thought to himself, "Oops!"

If the Bible Thinker Team has read these two blog posts then it is very troubling that they didn't immediately - that very day - post a video on their YouTube channel warning all of their subscribers and viewers of the extremely DANGEROUS practices of male circumcision and water baptism, and include at the beginning and end of the video the bold warning:

~ DANGER ~
Water Baptism and Male Circumcision can lead to death

There is no way of knowing how many people have died as a direct result of obeying the biblical commands to participate in these two sacraments.  My posts barely scratch the surface.  One thing that we can know is this - obedience to the bible with regard to these two sacraments can be, and has been, deadly.  We can actually know this.

Mike Winger is familiar with the term "Dangerous".  He has done at least two YouTube videos that have the word "Dangerous" in the title:

This video is concerned with "Bethel and Bill Johnson’s Bridge to the New Age and Spiritual Fakery.", and it is almost two hours long.  Now, bare in mind that when Mike uses the word "Dangerous" here, he does not have physical danger in mind.  In his thinking the danger is "spiritual" (what ever that means).  In essence, he is in disagreement with the teachings of this Bethal movement based on his own view of the bible, and considers their teachings to be spiritually "dangerous".

This video is concerning the belief that "All Roads Lead to God!", which Mike believes is not only false, but is obviously "DANGEROUS" as well.  I suppose that the danger he is concerned with is in his belief that this teaching will lead to multitudes of people being fooled into believing that they are going to heaven when they die, when in fact, they are going to hell when they die - HELL - the place that has exactly as much evidence backing up the claim of its existence as HEAVEN has, which is exactly zero evidence in support of its existence - ZERO.
This video is 1 hour and 16 minutes long.

Will Mike Winger ever address the two biblical commands that are actually physically dangerous to the faithful who obey those commands and submit to those sacraments?

You know what - holding my breath, that would be "DANGEROUS".
