Well , ya gotta give the Supreme Court credit - right out of the gate they are letting us know what we can expect for the next 8, 10, 30 years.  It is truly Christmas in July for Conservative Christians.  It seems if they can get their case, any case, before the Supreme's, they will likely win. Honestly , on this one, I really don't give a $h!t.  The only thing more stupid than a school board firing a coach for praying at mid field surrounded by his team - is - a coach actually believing that he is doing something constructive, meaningful, or worthwhile by praying at mid field, or praying period.   This entire fiasco was a complete waste of time and resources.  Who knows how much money was spent, on both sides, over the past 7 years since Joe Kennedy was fired from his coaching job.  And pretty much all that has been accomplished is Christians have been able to feed their already obese persecution c

  When I was a young Christian, so many years ago, I ignored Dr. Carl Sagan, the American astronomer.  He knew things and said things that conflicted with my fundamentalist Christian beliefs and those conflicts caused some cognitive dissonance.  One way to combat cognitive dissonance is to avoid the conflicting information and just don't think about it. From my perspective , it seems pretty obvious that one of these men is a Christian and the other is not . . . definitely not . . . absolutely not .   Even if Trump came right out and said that he was a Christian, said that he believed in God, and said that he expected the resurrected Christ to return at any moment, it would still be blatantly obvious - to me - that he doesn't believe any of what he just said.    There has never been one single indication in anything that Trump has ever said or done that would lead a reasonable person to conclude that he is a Christian - and - the reason  is because, Trump is not a Christian .   I suspect  if I were to take a random sampling of gun owners who are unquestionably pro 2nd Amendment, with self protection high on their list of reasons why they own a fire arm, if I ask them what demographic they believe that they might likely have to use a gun to protect themselves against, I wonder what answer would most come to their mind:  1  - I am sure that some believe that China or Russia might invade the US, so they would have to fight the Commies. 2  - Many likely would say that they might have to use their gun to prevent the US Government (the Democrats) from trying to confiscate their guns. 3  - Many more would likely answer that they fear the possibility of a home invasion or being assaulted in public, and the demographic that they are mostly concerned about look's something like this guy : What is odd is that this guy - above - is perhaps the least likely to have a gun.  The people who are the most likely to be armed are those who make it obvious that the most

  This is a most unfortunate amendment to the US Constitution.  This single sentence in the US Constitution has contributed to the deaths of thousands upon thousands upon thousands of people in this country. If it weren't for the wording in this single sentence that makes up The 2nd Amendment there would likely be millions fewer firearms and thousands fewer deaths by firearms every year.  But honestly, what were they thinking? In the US in 2020 there were 25,500 murders - over 19,000 of those murders (80%) involved a firearm . Deaths by firearm has doubled since 2010. More than 53 people die each day from the violent use of a firearm. In the US In 2020 - children - those under the age of 19 - death by firearm has replaced death by auto accident as the leading cause of death . It seems pretty obvious that - when it comes to the availability and use of firearms -  Americans as a whole  have not become more reasonable nor more responsible, but have become far less so. ~ ~ ~ A
